Kijiji - Better than Craigslist?
Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 07:51AM
In a new quest to find out if I could buy a pygmy hedgehog in Toronto (ok, don’t ask), I stumbled upon quite a neat new-to-me classifieds site - Kijiji. The word “kijiji” (pronounced like key-gee-gee) means “village” in Swahili. This name was chosen because it captures the essence of what we are creating - a site where people can connect with others in their community. Kijiji sites are currently available in more than 300 cities in 20 markets around the world. In Canada, Kijiji was launched in Montreal and Quebec City in February 2005. In November 2005, Kijiji expanded across the country and is now in over 35 cities coast to coast.Upon first inspection, it seems really good - the layout, the interface and the features are well thought-out and easy to use. I took advantage of the email notification, and it worked perfectly this morning!. All the features are free, akin to Craigslist, but it actually looks attractive….whereas Craigslist looks like something i made in a unix shell for Lynx 13 years ago.
Apparently i am late to the table - as it looks like Kijiji has a healthy roster of classifieds to choose from… if you are looking for something interesting, and it doesn’t have to be a pygmy hedgehog, give it test-drive - they have city specific classifieds for over 30 Canadian locations… I’m off to look for trees.

Cragslist is a good because they have a lot of traffic, but the site has no life at all. It is very boring to visit craigslist
Craigslist is the pioneer in this kind of business but they never improve their site.
I sell many products on the internet and I've been using kijiji, Cragslist and Ebay for my business. Now I discover a new site called RAZZZA - http://www.razzza.com which is far much much better than kijiji and craigslist.
Razzza is very easy to use, very fast and also free
it takes less than a minute to post an ad in Razzza.
I have improve my sell in 2000% since I am using Razzza
I highly recommend RAZZZA. I am sure this site will be the number 1 in the world soon. It is also fun to post an ad in Razzza. and site is just too beautiful to see

I have been googling all day for blogs about people complaining/praising Kijiji, Craigslist, etc in hopes of getting some valuable user feedback.
This post, by far, has been the most helpful to me and is totally getting printed and shown to my manager. I just finished re-implementing the classifieds front end interface to be more SEO/SEF URI's.
The web site is still in early beta -- but I would love to hear any feedback any of you have in regards to our classifieds (user interface, usability, etc). Any feedback greatly appreciated, good or bad.

A friend mentioned http://www.classifiedland.com a couple of days ago.
I decided to give it a try and I was really impressed.
Even though it seems to be new in town, it looks nice and as they say it is very easy to use.

Ernest
