« Firefox Eat Memory Like a Fat Kid Eats Smarties »

For some reason, if I happen to let Firefox run overnight (when my laptop is on Standby), the next morning, all hell has broken loose. Firefox has gobbled all my memory, forcing a cruel process kill. Is there a leak? Is it just a midnight memory snacker? Am I the only one with a glutenous Firefox?

Nope! I face the same issue. It’s a memory sap and it crashes at least once a week.

Chrome and IE8... I’ve tried them all. Kicker here is the fact I can’t live without my Mozilla add-on's. The little ticker scrolling underneath w/ RSS feeds for news, Gas prices for tomorrow, stocks and some of those redflag.com deals :-). Oh! Also this little thing called morning coffee that opens entire list of your daily web destinations at once. Regardless of how much I hate the bloat ware, it’s something that has become such an integral part of a personalized web experience. Knowing that the new IE8 is lightning fast (comparatively) and chrome is a featherweight on sys resources, I keep forgiving all the bad things fox does to my PC.

Same reason I’m putting my money on Google phone (once it becomes Canadian eh!). With all these developers coding open source to put out applications for free – iPhone better watch its back. Once again the superior user personalization will make it easy to live with that ugly face and other flaws.

BTW, you've got an awesome blog. Keep up the good work.

    Cheers,
    Omar

    Thanks Omar!! :-)
I might switch back to Flock for work... it was gorgeous (and ate less memory).... I love it on my macbook pro. I guess we'll have to see.....

Really, do I need to have a browser open during the day? ;-)
