« Joe Source: Local Alternative to Ebay »
Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 11:42AM
A neat comment on one of my Craigslist vs Kijiji articles led me to check out JoeSource.
JoeSource is recently hatched, but bears some watching for the future. Local auctions... it's a worthwhile initiative, considering I was on Ebay last night, looking for Solar Lights, and immediately shuffled the results based on geography. ;-)
The only challenge is in getting the word out. An auction isn't much if there aren't sellers and buyers. Word of mouth, anyone?

anymore, may use it to buy only (no fees, for the moment). Your
company is now getting too controling. No more money orders, checks
(of course you make money with paypal) shipping policy, return
policy, policies, policies...fees, fees, fees... You are getting to
the point where we have no choice, no freedom. USSR from the 70's.
This is sad for a company in America. Can't even protect us from
giving our personal information to Canadian government. I will list
on free adds sites where they have much much less policies and of
course free, in all sense of the word. Many of my friends, sellers on
ebay, think the same and will also sell somewhere else. Don't even
reply to this email with all your excuses and bla bla bla, it would
be an insult.
Enought is enought!!
I will find other sites to sell.
